Great one!

This story had an engaging problem and a satisfying resolution! What I'd once have called an "Analog" story.

My only problem was slight, suspending disbelief about any robot's ability to cope with a wiggly-worm of a baby!

I still have a pile of old Analogs in my library, they're an influence on me. You have a point about babies out-wiggling anything trying to change them. Hopefully future robots can handle that, or at least be not worse than the parents.

Loved this story- a very Apollo 13 feel to the team’s efforts. Thanks for sharing it!

I loved this, Mr. Gallagher. The characters, the setting, all of it. My wife was an OB nurse for much of her career, and I know she will enjoy reading it. 🙇‍♂️

Thank you! I'd love hearing what a professional on the subject thinks of the idea.

I need to echo Charles Gatlin. This is the sort of story I used to subscribe to Analog for. When Analog stopped bringing them, I stopped subscribing. I guess I need to budget for Substack, now.

Thank you! I'm glad we have a system that can give people the stories they want, rather than limiting them to the current fashion among editors.
